Bridlington (affectionately called “Brid”) has a fantastic range of activities and attractions.  These range from the expected beach, promenade and amusement arcades to Bridlington Animal Park which is set in woodland and a family run venture.  Not forgetting Bridlington Old Town for a complete change of pace.  Many visitors to Brid miss this wonderful hidden gem but don’t make that mistake!

Flamborough Head

Flamborough Head is an 8 mile stretch of rugged, chalk cliffs in Britain which stand at 400ft high and were laid down millions of years ago when the last dinosaurs were roaming the Earth!  The cliff top has two standing lighthouses, the oldest dating from 1669, designated a Grade II Listed Building and the oldest complete lighthouse structure in the UK, not to mention, one of the oldest in the World. As well as its distinctive white cliffs, there are coves and sea caves to explore.

Scarborough

Scarborough

Scarborough is Britian’s first ever seaside resort.  It has something for everyone, whatever your age.  Lovely beaches for some traditional seaside fun with shops, cafes and amusements on the Promenade.  The dramatic cliffs and manicured gardens of Peasholme Park are worth taking in for a change of pace.  The Sealife Centre and the indoor Alpamare Waterpark are great to keep everyone entertained when the cooler months set in.  A trip to the habour and Promenade at night (when it is all lit up) is also something to put on your "to-do" list.

Whitby

Whitby

Whitby is a seaside town in Yorkshire overlooking the North Sea.  The Church of St. Mary is reached by the well known 199 steps and there is Captain Cook’s Memorial Museum based in the house where Cook once lived.  The cobbled streets and locally owned shops and cafés all add to the quirky Whitby atmosphere.  Whitby is also famous for the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey which was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula” and the associated annual, ever expanding Whitby Goth Weekend.

Dogs are welcome to accompany you on your coastal walk and there is also a well stocked gift shop, small café and picnic benches to make for a pleasant visit.
